LB, I just read this and wanted to make a point about your reception issue. One of the reasons for going to digital is the ~reduction~ of station coverage area. The government wants you to get your news from local sources, not from distant ones. To counteract this, do your homework and be sure you have a good name-brand converter box ($50 or so), and get a good, old-fashioned, American made antenna and spring for a rotator, and get it as high up as possible. I would look at a higher-end Winegard Platinum ($180) or Channel-Master antenna that handles lo-VHF, hi-VHF and UHF. Stay away from stuff that looks like little satellite dishes, and plastic . You don't need a "digital" or "HDTV" antenna. These are advertising gimmicks, similar to the "color" antennas they sold to "black&white antenna" owners when I was a kid. The color, b&w, and digital signals all ride on the same carrier wave - the antenna doesn't know the difference. If you still have issues, you can add a quality powered amplifier ($100 or so)at the antenna to boost the signal. Gone are the days of TV "DXing" and picking up Texas stations in SC, but you can improve your signals enough to pick up stations in the 50-100 mile range. A good rotating beam antenna is the best way.

In a free world, it is up the the broadcaster if they wish to continue to employ her or not. If they view her as a liability, it would make sense to let her show go just as if I misrepresent or become a liability my employer, it is their discretion to keep me employed or not.

Years ago, when this was beginning to be the mantra in schools, I handed my 10 year old "Anthem", which she read in a single day, and said she understood what was being done to them. I think that that is so. I have not seen the new "Roseanne', although I really liked the old one, because I lost my TV reception when they went digital; my sister sent me a converter box, but I have been unable to find an antenna that is not a piece of Communist crap.

Rosanne is very well off, thank you very much. She made a fortune off of her previous sitcom and was set to make another on this one.
