SF in the northern state is a guaranteed loser.

The proposed State of Jefferson would fit the bill, so long as it gained a Pacific corridor. It would include areas of northern California and southern Oregon.

First step would be to leave the US, then do what ever they want to do. Also hope the proposal that Crook County and ChiRaq to leave Ill-noise. Another Wall would be be great for both California and Illinois

I think california, should be a separate country, and we should build Trump's wall around it.

4 more democratic senators and a new flag...this has been attempted 200 times and has failed every time...but one can always hope...even if it rhymes with dope....

SF and north has is arguably the best wine country in California. The product of Napa and Sonoma should give more than enough income for the liberal loons to steal and survive.

Wait. What. there's a Dem opposing the split? That means it might actually be a good plan. But I'd need to do more research. It might be a false-flag heckling type of opposition.

I wish there could be a "conservatism" test people would have to pass before they were allowed to move out of CA. And for gawd's sake: BUILD A DAMN WALL for the rest of them.

    I'm only half-kidding.

Complete waste of time. Neither Congress nor the other states would have the least bit interest in this. Besides, it would mess up the American flag.

There's a three-word addition I unfailingly place on the end of the word "Texas" when I use it in a sentence. It goes...."where I belong." "Texas-where-I-belong" is simply one word, to me.

We are looking with anticipation at heading back there, too...as soon as we can manage it. In the meantime, we cross the border as often as possible, so we can breathe again...until the next time.

There was an interesting write up about this subject on Patriot Post, I believe.

The big problem with this initiative, according to the author, is that it will likely add more liberal Democrat senators and representatives to Congress, due to the way the state would be split up.

I don't follow politics all that closely, but it sounds like a very bad idea to me...

Considering that runners/bikers use an app to track where people are pooping on the sidewalks to beware... And the near destroyed state of the economy there (all liberal ideals), and finally, the fact that the roosters are coming home to roost... NOW is NOT the time to split them up. I would literally HIDE the Dystopian Liberal Destruction... While I would love a split for various reasons...

I think letting them fester a bit longer, is working. Notice how expensive it is getting to Move AWAY from SF??? Versus renting a U-Haul into SF... It's because people are leaving in droves. And these are the middle class that pay the taxes without consuming all of the resources...

My friends who live there, and are clearly more liberal, are even starting to shake their heads. They are liberal, but not communists... Watching the communism take root is starting to be concerning for them... they have actually started at least looking at real-estate elsewhere...

I would think they congregate in the part that has North and eastern parts. The coast is surely compromised. Reminds me of Heinlein's "The Puppet Masters".

Thomas Jefferson wanted even neighborhoods to experiment with different rules. I wish the fed and state gov'ts would leave people alone so they could form enclaves with their own rules. They can't interfere with commerce or ingress/egress, but they could totally have weird rules. I feel like that in some places, esp Kentucky. Last year I filled up in Eastern KY at a gas station with the old mechanical qty and price display-- the moving slot-machine-like wheels. It surprised me. I said, "I guess you have to pay inside," and a local thought I meant pre-pay. "Yeah, unfortunately that's what the world's coming to these days."

The road to Kingdom Come State Park was closed according to a sign, and I got the idea they meant business -- you might drive off the mountain if you ignored the sign.

I like leaving people alone to run things their own weird ways. If you don't bother people passing through, it doesn't hurt anyone.

As described it puts the LA cesspool controlling one state, and the San Fran cesspool controlling another state. San Diego's latinos may take control of the third state.

Abaco may be right, the courts have become the tools of the deep state to forward their agenda, so if they want to keep it as one giant cess pool, they could. Also, it then goes to the congress who have to approve it, and that seems unlikely as Republicrats see 6 Dumbocrap senators where they have 2.

What would the court have to do with it.
    The state is unmanagable...

The Big Plus would be California (west coast line...LA etc) would have most of the illegals and homeless...North and South has a potential to harbor more Value creators and producers. It also would ease up on the liberal progressive marxism infecting our national elections.

This interesting split leaves LA and surrounding areas, to fall 10 leagues under the sea when the big one hits...hopefully SF will go with it.

Do these people sit around and dream up this foolishness? Why do they want to split the state into three states? I have to admit something here. I was born in Los Angeles, but mother and dad got me back to Texas asap. nb

Never happen. If passed by the voters this will go the way of famous Prop 187 of 20+ years ago. Courts will shut it down within 10 seconds.

The division as described solves nothing. The Bay area has nothing in common with the rest of northern CA, except, perhaps, for Sacramento.
Of course, my goal would be for one of the new states to be a Gulch- with access to the Pacific Ocean.
