Guess Nike's writing off middle America sports enthusiasts for their products - just don't buy Nike.

This is perhaps where Kaepernick got the idea to disrespect the flag...not to mention, politicizing an all American sport.

WHERE DID THE HATRED FOR THE FLAG START?

    EVER WONDER WHERE
COLIN KAEPERNICK GOT HIS IDEA TO KNEEL AND DISRESPECT THE
    FLAG?
    DO NOT ADD A SINGLE
WORD , but just pass it
    on.
    Code,
    Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec.
    171...
    During
rendition of the national anthem, when the flag
is displayed, all present (except those in
uniform) are expected to stand at attention
facing the flag with the right hand over the
heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face
    It".

    Senator
    Obama replied :
    "As
I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be
perceived as taking sides." "There are a lot of
people in the world to whom the American flag is
a symbol of oppression..." "The anthem itself
conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs
bursting in air and all that sort of
    thing."
    Obama
continued: "The National Anthem should be
'swapped' for something less parochial and less
bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach
the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem,
then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we
should consider reinventing our National Anthem
as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer
our enemies hope and love. It’s
my intention, if elected, to disarm
    America to
the level of acceptance to our Middle East
Brethren. If we,as a Nation of warring people,
conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam,
where peace prevails, perhaps a state or period
of mutual accord could exist between our
    governments".
    When
I Become President, I will seek a pact of
agreement to end hostilities between those who
have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a
freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We
as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of
    Islam, an unfair injustice which
is WHY my wife disrespects the
    Flag
    and
she and I have attended several flag burning
    ceremonies in the
    past".

    "Of
    course now,
    I
have found myself about to become The President
of the United States and I have put my hatred
    aside . I
will use my power to bring CHANGE to this
Nation, and offer the people a new
    path . My
wife and I look forward to becoming our
    Country's First black Family.
    Indeed , CHANGE
is about to overwhelm the United States of
    America."
    Yes, you
    read it
    right.

It’s hard to believe that alienating half of the country will increase shoe sales. Doesn’t Nike manufacture most of their stuff in China, Vietnam, and other communist sweatshops?

    Kneel for that, please....

Should I be asked on the street by a man with a mic about what's my take on one Colin Capernick, I would call to everyone's mind those socks he wore with pigs as cops all over them.
Nike must like those socks, too.

It certainly appeases a segment their perceived market. It merely trolls ignorance, and the ignorance of this short-sighted marketing gem will soon be forgotten and replaced. All that matters is the market reaction. As it should be.

    That is just strange...

I once boycotted Nike for over a decade. It started when Tiger won the Masters and they had an ad with him saying there were still courses where he couldn't play. He was already worth probably $100M and could play wherever he wanted. I thought it was in very poor taste. This tastes very similar.

And another thing... Just this weekend, as I often do watching golf, I noticed a really nice golf shirt on one of the PGA players and thought, "Hmmm, I'll pick one of those up." Nope. Not now. Oakley and Peter Millar for me...still.

Guess they have changed their motto to: Socialism - Just Do it

Never bought any overpriced rubbish from the comrades at Nikovich.
Now they can be certain I never will.

"Politeness and civility are the best capital ever invested in business. Large stores, gilt signs, flaming advertisements, will all prove unavailing if you or your employees treat your patrons abruptly."
    - PT Barnum

"It's morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep his money."
    - W. C. Fields

I'd like to think the executives value liberty, but a bigger motivation is that we the consumers do. This is just a reminder that despite the very serious setbacks, people value freedom. Liberty is mainstream value that brands want to be associated with. It makes me more keen to replace my old exercise shirts with Nike.
