I agree. I'll keep this Win7 machine as long as I can, to play the games I like, and such. But for work I'm planning on buying the parts as I can to build myself a graphics workstation running Linux Mint. Most of the tools I'll need are available for Linux, and it still leaves me in control of my machine.
I will stick to XP and/or Windows 7. Windows 8+ was designed for teenagers who play on their phones rather than adults who actually work on their computers.
