He was deified by the left, mostly.

Just as McCain was deified.

Anything to divert attention from Trump.

  My service man said McCain was a coward in hiding. My guy was in the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam twice. Lost my brother in law in VN. He was a Major 101st Airborne helicopter pilot. Flew something called a Mohawk.
