PBS and NPR should be RETURNED TO THE EDUCATIONAL BASIS they were created under.

PBS, Rush Revere and his Faithful horse Liberty for a Childrens show, Lectures on the REAL history of the Nation from Columbus forward presented by Hillsdale College.

NPR should echo the REALITY of AMERICA as the Greatest Nation ever created by Mankind, and the WHY it is GREATER than any other form of government.

I don't remember that they (NPR and PBS) were created under those bases.(Paul Revere and America as the Greatest Nation).

I'm glad to see this topic here and wondered when it would be brought up. NPR's agenda is clear and biased toward that end - to MAKE listeners BELIEVE how NPR sees the world, not offer facts and let the audience conclude an opinion. What I find disturbing is that it has been allowed to go on for so long. Even Science Friday has been tainted.

Like a ritual, me dino listens to Mountain Stage Saturdays 5 PM --7 PM while I snail mail pay bills and look through mail order catalogs and stuff sent by Publishers Clearing House. Very rarely does a singer get political and that I always stifle with volume control.
Save for this one. A couple of Saturdays ago some woman sang a sad song about how she felt when The Evil Hag lost to Trump and I was mocking her with "Oh, boo-hoo-hoo!" noises, laughing it up. But me dino cringed when the audience applauded her.
I'm thinking, hey, Mountain Stage is in West Virginia where coal mines are. That's the only NPR show I listen to.
It replaced the slot for a retired A Prairie Home Companion that used to be my snail mail ritual radio show.
As for PBS, it was way back during the Seventies when I watched a string of Japanese classic movies with one coming on each Wednesday night for about three months. They included Yojimbo (copied by A Fistful Of Dollars), its sequel Sanjuro, Seven Samurai and Throne Of Blood (Macbeth with samurai in it).
What else have I watched on PBS? That's it!
Never have sent any of those NPR and PBS asked-for donations and never will.

Just remove government funding. It's easy to say but how do you sell this politically? Maybe say because these are great channels that many enjoy, they should no longer be tied down to government rules and regulations?

I'd favor privatizing them instead - along with the rest of PBS. "Sesame Street" alone makes enough money to fund the entire channel...

Given the vast proliferation of channels, there is no justification for government funded leftist media outlets.

NPR has been a promoter of leftist propaganda for at least 3 decades. I can't stand to listen to more than a few seconds of their communist biased tripe without feeling nausea.
