This is the reason I think the costs of global warming may be overstated. You can calculate it as if people won't move away from flooded areas, won't stop farming in areas that become arid, and won't start farming in formerly frozen areas that become arable. Humans have rational brains, and there are more of this working on problems like this. The problem of the earth supporting billions of people living affluent lives is complicated, but in just the past few decades there's bee reforestation and a decrease in greenhouse gas / GDP ratio. I think it's part of the Malthusian trap that we always seem to escape and I'm confident we will keep doing that.

I agree many people don't mind stealing from the future by damaging the environment, but most people are honest. The economy as we know it could never run if every citizen stole or trashed other people's stuff at the first moment they could get away with it. If humans still exist then and the sea levels decrease 300+ feet, humans will build, as they did in the past, out on the new coast only to be flooded out by the next inter-glacial. No need to worry since humans have rational brains and do not usually stay put and die when conditions change. Besides the change in local climates is so slow only non thinkers would even find a problem with climate. Do not try to collectivize individuals because of changing weather patterns.

I think that as wages rise, automation will be more economical by comparison, and we can get RID of entitled american workers and stop buying so much from china. Why not make the minimum wage $20 an hour? That will eliminate a LOT of jobs and replace them by automation.

Start with fast food restaurants- use kiosks for ordering. I would go for that right now. The kiosks will be certainly more user friendly without having to deal with stupid people that cant seem to even listen to the simple orders from customers. I wont order from my phone remotely because I just dont trust that my order will be right.
