Democrats need a win on something; anything, to shift the narrative and change the reality of their failure into an illusion of success.
First, accuse Vladimir Putin of doing something he never intends to do, a fabricated scenario. Second, tell the world you will strongly respond to the fabricated scenario. Third, tell the world the exact date when the fabricated scenario is supposed to happen. Then, when the fabricated scenario never happens, it is because you are so brilliant and strong to have outmaneuvered and cowed the Russians.
Declare the absence of the Ukraine invasion event as the result of your brilliance and announce a foreign policy victory. That, my friends, is exactly what has taken place."

Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine. That is where all the international money laundering occurs. They would love to destroy all that evidence.
1) Putin is paying for what looks like 100,000 soldiers to sit around on the ukraine/russia border for weeks now. That ISNT cheap. There has to be a payoff- either to invade, or to get concessions that make the cost pay off.
2) Nothing can happen until the olympics are over on sunday the 20th. Invasion would be bad for china if putin stole the thunder of the olympics from Xi.
3) Putin has waited for weeks to invade, allowing ukraine and the west to amass more armaments. This seems counter productive if he wanted a quick takeover of ukraine.
4) There will NOT be a quick takeover of unraine, without insurgencies springing up as they did in afghanistan. It will be a long and bloody affair to actually hold ukraine after a quick invasion. Putin has to know this.
5) If Putin really wanted a long lasting annexation of Ukraine, he could always try the route of convincing the ukrainians to vote for joining Russia. He must realize that this is just NOT going to happen, and that if it doesnt happen, Russia cant hold onto Ukraine peacefully even after an invasion. Apparently, Ukraine wants to be free to decide its future. Hasnt joined NATO either.
6) He has to know that neither the US or Russia want war with each other. It would eventually turn nuclear, and both countries would be decimated.
7) Given all the above, is putin just bluffing so as to get some concessions from the weakness of biden before he resigns or is voted out ? It seems more likely this is the case. Biden's sanctions are worthless and would be countered by China if he put them forth. Promises that Ukraine wont join NATO are kind of toothless, in that Ukraine hasnt pushed for joining NATO anyway,
8) I am thinking that Putin will further encourage russians within Ukraine to rise up more than they have already, but he wont actually invade.
My wife is from Ukraine and she wasn't worried, in spite of family still being over there. We both have been wondering why so much of the "news" attention is on Ukraine. I have been saying all along it's a distraction and some kind of political stunt.
He cant manage our own border issues (and others) so please shift your attention to another border issue.
