Realistic transition?, if only we could harness the power of rolling eyeballs. Watch the batteries charge as we listen to another one of Joe's fantastic true-life adventures.
I doubt this could be used as a perpetual energy producer at this point in time. Not sure what the future might bring. I have played a bit with a few of the newer magnets I have and will admit they can be very powerful if not dangerous. Neodymium is the type I think and I did get a nice blood blister while playing with two of them.
To be clear. We've learned that calling OIL a Fossil Fuel was BUNK created to create more scarcity.
Tesla had created a couple of OVER UNITY devices. (Because conservation of energy depends on where you draw the line), but, for example, compressing a gas at night, and then relying on the extra expansion caused by the sun during the day.
And you just witnessed something close to perpetual motion, using magnets. Not batteries. Clearly more motion was created than was input.
Now, the minute you attach something to that field to draw power out of it, how long will it continue? (Not sure).
Did overcoming the Moment of Inertia require more energy than keeping that thing spinning? (not sure).
But there is a TON of free energy out there. The Sun Provides FREE Energy EVERY DAY! Without it, we would certainly die!
While I am NOT convinced things like this scale up, it just strikes me... In todays world, how our language has been shaped to avoid research in these areas.
Here's the "acid test": if this device, or any other such device, actually worked, and marketed, then Exxon would be filing for bankruptcy, and the device's inventor would become the first trillionaire.
Start with the Second Law of Thermodynamics. There is no free lunch. Now that we know it is not creating energy, figure out how it is done. Not really enough here to tell what the scam is, but there is a scam. If not, set it up yourself, add a small generator and run a light bulb indefinitely.
Like poles repel, opposite poles attract. Just set the magnets in right position and results in the video. Similar manor in which mag-lev trains operate. Also the new airplane catapult .
Just the same, I have a buddy that will eat this up.
But even without such an obvious failure, the demo is a deception. Demos like this are ALWAYS deceptions.
Which are a BUNCH of D sized batteries... I would imagine someone asking "Will this scale up"?
While the real question is "Is it worth scaling this up?" (in the Tesla case... I'd say no!)

Scalable?
Need to know if those metal pieces are magnetic also...
does it scale?
does friction overwhelm at a larger scale?
