As a school teacher I actually approve thia 1 thing that Biden has done. I understand and agree that this is not the right thing to do but the Goverment has screwed me over so many times in the past. That I am willing to over look this as at least this time I am on the receiving end.
As a member of the military, I was obligated to pay into SS at the same rate as everyone else. Jimmy Carter (good riddance) decided my military retirement should be cut in proportion to whatever I would receive from SS. Fortunately that was reversed under Reagan. The amounts these government workers will receive is in direct proportion to whatever they were forced to pay into the system. If they didn't pay into it, they get nothing.
Social Security became a slop trough for politicians long ago. Its original purpose has been eroded, its rightful entitlees forgotten. No one should receive funds who has not first contributed to those funds, yet that money is going out to illegals, among others. It is sickening...
Biden is just trying to spend as much as he can before Trump gets in to take away trump's ability to accomplish anything.
If I were Trump, I would issue two executive orders on day 1: 1. ALL prior executive orders are null and void. 2. All discretionary spending will stop until re-approved by the new administration.
From the article: "Critics of the bill said it would give an unfair financial boost to employees, usually government workers, who were exempt from paying Social Security taxes on their salaries in the first place." I've looked upon my SS Ponzi payments as a ROI (Return On Investment) since I was forced to pay into it my entire working life. Now, at the stroke of a politicians pen and a whole bunch of other politicians voting for it, a group of government retirees, who probably have much bigger pensions than mine, can receive a RONI (Return On NO Investment), which will shorten the lifespan of my hoped for ROI.
Thanks for the post, Thor. It was a good read and made me aware of one more government screw job to piss me off.
