carries a SSgt insignia on its fairing, from respect. . NCOs carry

The military guys join some illustrious company, including Eisenhower, MacArthur, Audie Murphy, Alvin York and many others. It equates to our Medal of Honor (or so I'm led to believe). As such, it WILL be worn on a military uniform with a conspicuously prominent placement. I believe it is placed above all other awards except the MOH. It's nice an AF enlisted guy gets some credit for bravery.
