Ellen was on Jimmy Kimmel's show recently and she talks about how she can never finish books and the first book she talks about is "The Fountainhead." Very funny clip from the show.

Something about these demo-nstrators. Clinton was into pubic underwear discussions and poor in mathematics, Obama reminded me of Archie Bell.. 'We don't sing and we dance just as bad as we want to.' And awful at math especially the kind with dollar signs in front.

I posted this before Ellen had a music rapper on
Her show to promote his new CD She told the guy "I really like what your saying here" as she waved the CD at the audience.
I looked up the lyrics from the 1st track and it had the n word a dozen times it spoke very crudely of women and cussed the police for catching them with kilos of coke In the trunk because they were driving while black. What an ignorant culture icon.

I didn't find it funny. I found it sad. When I hear people talk like that I think of Fahrenheit 451.

Maybe she should just settle for reading John Galt's speech...a lot is covered in those 50 pages.

She should have finished. It would do her a world of good.

You can not know what is nonsense unless you can experience it sometimes to compare with all that good stuff, though it requires a functioning critical faculty with a lot of common sense. Suspending critical thinking and doing selective thinking, usually faith thinking, can be called a trance or hypnotic state of mind.

How true. If this hadn't been posted here, I would have had no idea how ridiculous this program is, since I have never watched it. Johnny Carson seems like an Einstein in comparison. As you said, plenty of other distractions ;^)

Not much different than all those who joke about not being able to understand even the simplest mathematics. Many in the Gulch joke about ignorance of such and such as do most people. Growing up I missed The Fountainhead, waiting until I was 26 to read it. I did read a lot of stuff my dad was reading in our ma and pa neighborhood grocery. Good stuff like Thorne Smith's The Passionate Witch, Not as a Stranger and The Cry and the Covenant, along with stuff like the Scourge of the Swastika and a manual for some kind an IBM business machine and a lot of real junk.
There is much more to do in life, such as seeing the latest episode of Person of Interest or other recreational stuff, than wondering about Ellen.

Shame...had she finished the Fountainhead she might have awakened and taken a good long look at herself.

What is with this national desire to be stupid, to hate reading, but to want to run things! Ellen actually has pretty good taste in interior decorating, but she is setting a poor example for teens with the desire not to read. Perhaps she could read "Anthem", which our daughter read at age 9, a mere 90 pages surely would not stress Ellen too much. Geez, what has it come too, I remember a novels course I took in college, where we read 800-1000 page books, one a week for the term, in addition to reading for other classes. Our nation is lost if more people become unwilling or unable to even attempt to read AS, a time toward which we are too quickly approaching.

I've messed with her name like that for years. Never here though.
And it's rare that I even think of her.

What got me was how the audience whopped it up when Ellen said she was not going to read either book.
That told me something about folks who watch Jimmy Kimmel Live.
    Note to self~
Me dino has never seen that show.
And me dino don't ever need to.

Ellen's ADHD makes her perfect for playing a role like Dory.

See "The Fountainhead" is too intimidating but she wants to be President?

I was fascinated from the beginning. Didn't read it until my late 20's though so had some life and business experience by that time.
Joking about it? They don't have any knowledge of it whatsoever. Complete neophytes to reason.
