Now this is interesting, and a good question on many levels. Is Trump an insane liar, who did an Obama/Clinton and said one thing and did another? Is this the DOJ's job? Is he ruling by decree now? Is he as bad as the rest? Is it just a knee jerk Trump thing? How about a case of something 99.99% of gun owners really do not have a valid need for? Maybe useful if people need to fight their own government, but how can they guarrantee the bad guys won't have them (because bad guys are bad guys because they do not follow such mundane things as "laws")? Is this the start of the great gun grab, and if so, is it not weird that enough crazy people have seemingly managed to escape all the rules, systems and safeguards to do crazy things, enough to get a societal movement going where abridging your constitutional guarantees are just not a big deal? When do they start chanting "For the children"?

I know two people with "external-mod" automatic guns. One of them showed me the external mod and a federal license of some sort. The other one fired in full-auto at a reputable local range. I do not think the external mod is like a bump stock. I'll have to ask them how they do this. They are both law-abiding and not involved in law enforcement or military. I think there is some loophole that allows them to have full-auto.
Having a bump stock is one thing, paying for the ammo is another thing.
However, it certainly does have another purpose, and probably the primary intent if you watch some of the marketing on YouTube - it obviously side-steps the full auto ban. After Las Vegas, certainly the ATF would want to "re-review" the regulatory approval of the device. They would probably allow the company to redesign the product to fit what the submitted purpose was - but without the other feature/aspect.
Over in the other display cases we have Mueller being allowed to continue digging himself in deeper and deeper, and something like 25,000 sealed indictments waiting for any swamp-felons who do not voluntarily self-destruct.

Instead they suffer through their later years not being able to hear their grandchildren's voices or their favorite music. Lawmakers should be deafened so they can understand what their stupid laws are doing to the people they represent.
There are no exceptions in the 2nd amendment. All gun laws restricting ownership by otherwise law abiding people are unconstitutional and should be repealed.
