Two Advertisers Suspend ‘Full Frontal’ Sponsorship In Wake Of Ivanka Slur

Gee "feckless c@@t" gets you a couple dropped advertisers, but a poorly worded and not funny "joke" about race gets you canned and ostracised. Not defending either, just the level of penalty. Guess it makes a difference what side you are when you need to be spanked.

That is also very true, there is a huge difference, almost like taking one for the team, you still survive.Roseanne got nothing out of here little debacle, lost series and got hammered by both sides.

Well, this has been building for a while, both sides looking for a super weapon, and money is a strong weapon. However it is hard to apply, as it is like blackmail, you never know what the mark will do, look at how Publix told little weasel boy Hogg to pack sand when he tried to blackmail them with die ins and demands. They have been doing this stuff to conservatives and groups (like the NRA, who lost quite a bit).

Well, remember they went after Hannity for something he said or did that was no where near as crass as this piece of trailer trash talk. So, it would seem they get caught in the middle no matter what they are going to do.

Discover went the other way, basically saying they advertise in all places to a diverse audience, and, so, just shut up, "we" were not offended at all....

HEINLEIN. Lazarus Long had a much greater command of the english language and could make a emperor into a peasant with just a sentence. Jubal Harshaw was another great one too...

Whats funny is an article I read that says she only does scripted stuff, reading from a teleprompter, meaning it made it through several editors. That should also come out if true, as it shows they intended a malicious slur, and Ivanka should have a lawsuit.

Just look at the woman's face as she used the c-word. You can see the seething anger and hatred. She was venting. It survived the edit, was deemed appropriate for broadcast, and out it went.

That's what I see with the lefties. Just raw anger and hatred.

The night of the inauguration I said to a buddy, over a glass of wine, "Watch. The media will attack Baron." 9 am the next morning my buddy texted me with, "How did you nail it?" That SNL writer went right after Baron that night. That's what these people do. Nothing is safe with them. Not children. Not women...

Now they have an open pedo running for Congress.

Wait until the leftists start viciously condemning individuals for what a smart speaker or other device hears them say in their own homes.

I'm more of the "let the market sort it out" kind of person - if some dipshit wants to say something like this on TV, so be it, let their advertisers decide if they want to be affiliated with them to target a limited demographic while offending a larger one.

I also think there should be personal repercussions legally though, the Supreme Court has ruled that political leaders are celebrities and subject to criticism in the public forum - however, that really doesn't extend to children and if you notice - they always say "Ivanka Trump, an advisor to the President" - but she is also an unpaid advisor - so does that mean I can say something nasty like that on television about the endless string of Hollywood tramps that are "advisors to Governor Moonbeam Brown"? Several are on various "commissions" after all and actually have formal meeting schedules, etc. Ivanka has the deep pockets, I'd test the legal theory if I were her and file a lawsuit, drag the bag through deposition after deposition and "leak" all of her answers to the media, etc. - it works for Stormy.

One thing is for certain though, there is a difference between a Tweet from an iPhone in the middle of the night, and a monologue that was pre-recorded, edited, vetted, and broadcasted at a later date. To me, that says "many people have reviewed and thought this was great to put on the air". The sponsors certainly need to strongly consider if they want to be associated with that, and if you don't agree with the statement - be sure to stop recording crap on that channel with your DVR.

    +1
As inappropriate language is being accepted by leftists less and less and vicious language is being excepted more and more, maybe “vicious” is becoming the new normal. Unfortunately evidence of this abounds.

There's a difference between "inappropriate" and "vicious".Barr represents the former, Bee the latter. It seems that we have slipped into a use of language that reflects its lowest form; of the gutter.. I would suggest that Ms. Bee read the epithets of Winston Churchill, or better still, Mark Twain. These are men who could use language in such a way that slices, dices and leaves you bleeding before you realize you've ever been cut.Compared to these men of the lat 19th and early 20th century, there is no other word for their forays into gutter language than that which shows them as fools.

That may be entirely true ....
It's the dichotomy of the level of feigned outrage against anything conservative vs the "It was only a joke" or the "Oh but she apologized so it's OK" of liberal progressives that I was pointing out.

Having heard the audience's ha ha ho ho applauding reaction to that bawdy wench's so-called joke, me dino predicts that Bee shall continue to buzz about her hive because the left gets it on with her kinda humor.
It's like how they also get it on with the lyrics of rappers. Me dino suddenly recalls Obama inviting a couple of those o so cool bad boys to perform at the White House.
    Yo! Same difference, dude..

Right, and most of them would have quietly been back in a week or two - after the fury and foam have subsided. That, too, is a trend I've noticed. But you have to pay attention past the fury and foam stage to notice it. And we know how well the general public does that. ;)

At this point I think it’s better to know where someone stands than to have it hidden by pc

If it had been a conservative comedian saying the exact same thing about Chelsea Clinton, it wouldn't have been just 2 sponsors it would have been all of them and they would have clearly stated they were dropping their support.

Right now it seems that the entire corp. world, the press included, has swallowed the progressive kool-aid.

I suspect (or maybe it is wishful thinking) that is the first sign of push-back by advertisers against this behavior. Almost a tacit recognition that it is a fleeting effect and that people will forget it quickly enough to just pay lip service and go back to advertising. If so, then of the two ways they can go from there I hope they choose "screw your fleeting 'boycott', we know you don't have the courage of your convictions to make it matter so we're not even going to bother" route.

I was glad to see Melania's office responded on basically the same note, the liberal run amuck machine needs the wheels cut out from under it.
