Overall, we were the only state to hold the Blue at bay. I get more and more concerned how close the races are becoming here though.

It was a sad day for America. Too many people did not look at the modern day EU and realize that is what is coming. At least my state of Florida held the line. It might be the last bastion of Conservative thoughts left. Oklahoma is still pretty reliably red as well.

We already had one foreign born president, and look how that turned out.

If you are both healthy, I'd advise taking time to visit places that are appealing for at least a few weeks at a time.
SE Asia has lots of interesting places to visit if you can spare enough time to make it worthwhile given the long flight.

Well, IMO Elon is closer than Trump. But of course he will never be President, unless the Democrats decide to change the Constitution to allow some of their foreign Mullas to become President, and he gets elected by accident.

Then again, it's possible not all Mullas are foreign-born, and they won't have to make any changes. Plus I don't think much of anything is going to happen "by accident" going forward. Demorats (SIC) are so much better at crossing their "t"s and dotting their "i"s and basically just making each other behave.

And thank you for curing me of the dream I've had for decades of retiring to some Caribbean island paradise, since, apparently, no such paradise exists outside of a vacation, as you point out.

I will now turn my thoughts to Southeast Asia (I have a few Aussie friends who have escaped to Phuket), although that is a heck of a long way away, because my wife, who is five years younger than me and is from the midwest and has no interest in anything foreign, would never consider the possibility of moving there, I'm sure.

When I told her yesterday that it's time to leave ruined Arizona (after her Mom, who we've been full-time caretakers for and is nearing her end, passes away), she did immediately bring up the fact that we had actually put a deposit down on a new construction home in Florida years ago, before then deciding to move here to Scottsdale instead. Her last remaining aunt lives in Ocala, so hopefully the leftists don't decide to infect Florida as they just did with Texas.

I grew up in the NYC area, and I miss the ocean. So that may be my next, and possibly last, move.
