- 176Posted by CaptainKirk 6 days, 21 hours ago to Bots and AI running the market - how to copeOnce you realize your broker sees your stops, and is allowed to "sell" access to them.
You STOP wondering how they knew where your stops were.
I won't trade because the markets are so artificial.
I told my daughter. Buy the index ETFs. Dollar Cost Average.
And if you want a slight advantage and you are long term. Buy on the second down day.
For example, if you set aside $100 /mo to buy. You only buy $80 worth, save 20% for the down day strategy. (more if you are young and aggressive).
Then I explained why it works:
1) The markets are RIGGED to go up. They swap losers with winners to maintain it.
2) The market is MOSLTY an inflation hedge. (Why do you think they are BORROWING money and spent all their cash on AI... Because they are getting rid of paper about the be set on FIRE with inflation, and they would rather hold debt and assets)
Now, the best thing is to just buy. Don't Trade. Rebalance.
JPMorgan did an analysis. They found that the people who performed their best, were the ones who lost their passwords, and simply held. - 177Posted by Lucky 6 days, 23 hours ago to Politicians ignore the Constitution to win Elections.Do it for the gipper

- 188Posted by NealS 1 week ago to Bots and AI running the market - how to copeI'm about ready to stop trading altogether. Recent buys should have yielded nice gains, which they did for a while, but even with continued improvement there were big sell outs. I have a friend now that owns no stock overnight. He has daily goals, when reached he's out. His whole market experience is short term. Surprising to me, he's doing well.

- 192Posted by jack1776 1 week ago to Pondering thoughts – why is the Fed is raising interest rates?Oil supply shortage → oil price increase → oil is a used in almost everything → prices rise on everything?
I don't understand your positioning, can you elaborate? I know money supply causes it as well but both are root causes. "Too much money chasing too few goods". We are speaking about the too few goods; the average house hold doesn't have too much money. Rising interest rates doesn't fix this problem, IMHO. Every time a bank makes a loan, it creates money out of thin air. They then charge you for the privilege of using this money. This increases the supply of money in the economy but your saying that if it wasn't for the money supply the prices couldn't rise? This concept is called demand destruction and its horrible. I do think we are on the doorstep of demand destruction, just like what happened right before the housing crises. Oil spiked then collapsed to record lows; this is because no one had money to pay the prices. This is a failed economy. - 193Posted by mccannon01 1 week ago to TGIFfunnies 10/30/26 EDITION: Words of WisdomWisdom and wit! Wisdom and wit! Thanks, OUC, for another great start to my day.
