I think they are like most of the system of American Government: a great idea that has since been corrupted by those seeking power.

only stargeezer can convince me that there is any
virtue to the VA -- they often do harm, in contrast
    with their principle. -- j

I think veterans might have a say if the FDA or some other health authority stepped in, I know for sure I would. As far as the IRS, she's donating the money and therefore should get the write-off and be able to get a refund for her expenses. And then there's the Earned Income Credit. Take advantage of it, it's the law. It would provide even more money.

It takes an 8 yr old to do what the government should be doing - caring for the brave men and women who fight for our country. The BO administration should be hiding their heads in shame.

There's hope for the human race, after all.
Who wants to bet against her becoming a class A businesswoman? Not me.

this is great - good for her.

Most cities, counties, states, and even the feds would shut this down due to
no business licenses, not paying sale taxes, no FDA approval, no kitchen meeting
local health regulations, underage workers, etc. etc. etc.

It nice to see someone able to operate without all these "consumer protections" (really
protections for entrenched businesses and their politicians).

This is such an encouraging story.. At her age, imagine what she will accomplish later in life :-)

Cool. I love it when people see something they want to change or get done and then they do something about it. She's 8. Many adults don't do that.
