I for one, and many of you I bet, had great conversations with Herb Shapiro, (Herb7734)...I will miss him greatly.

Good Afternoon All!

Sorry for the repeat message, but several eMails bounced, so I had to log into my dad's computer to get the proper addresses.

It is with sadness that I notify you that my dad, Herb Shapiro passed peacefully away early this morning while sleeping.

This followed complications due to pneumonia in early June.

Regards,
Steve.

Shalom Aleikhem Herb. The world is a better place because of your life. You have taught and touched many souls in your 6 days shy of 87 years. The wisdom and diversity of knowledge Herb possesed will be sorely missed but it will not forgotten. My deepest sympathy to his lovely BW as Herb would say and to his family.
    From his bio .....
I'm really old. Slightly disabled. In my life I've had many careers. Starting out as a paperboy, I have been: A shoe salesman, a musician, a photographer, a camera store and photo studio owner, an editor and publisher, a home organ salesman and performer, and presently retired. I currently communicate with many people all over the world, giving them my opinions whether they want them or not. I also pass along articles of interest to those whom I think will enjoy them. I've been an Objectivist since the early days of Rand and Branden. I have had the pleasure of meeting them both and have taken classes on Objectivism by Branden and others.

A tribute to Herb and all who enjoin in the best of life.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVyEK...
    Lyrics:
Molly O Malley s is not too far from here
Where not a soul, the story goes, ever pays for beer
At Molly O Malley s the patrons understand
That the player s fee is a pint or three
So everyone s in the band
    Everybody s in the band

Some join in with voices, some with pipes or reeds
Some in the band clap their hands or laugh and slap their knees
Some are still and listen with attentive eyes and ears
And it s always strange how the music changes
    When they disappear
    When they disappear

    Over the doorway, painted bold
    A question begs your pardon
Is this a place of many souls
Or just one very large one?
    Over the bar, another reads
    Are there many songs
Or just one that goes on and on?

At Molly O Malley s they go chair to chair
And each one croons a little tune they would like to share
Some are sad, some happy, and singing has its rules
That you can t be shy and you cannot lie
But you sing a song that s true
Sing a song that s true

    Over the doorway, painted bold
    A question begs your pardon
Is this a place of many souls
Or just one very large one?
    Over the bar, another reads
    Are there many songs
Or just one that goes on and on?

When the night is over, before the last farewell
They find the jar on the bar and kindly tip themselves
At Molly O Malley s, the patrons understand
That the player s fee is a pint or three
So everyone s in the band
    Everybody s in the band

Herb's voluntary contributions to the Gulch will be missed. Herb was a gentleman, a patriot, and a producer.
It's a tragedy we will not have benefit of Herb's wisdom in the future. I know I have missed his comments more in recent maddening days.

Please share with them 'You don't get over the death of a loved one, but you will get through it with God's help'. When my son and daughter in law were taken from me, a good friend shared this message with me. It was very comforting. Nan
