This, from a state that can’t produce enough electricity now due to environment regulations.

With no electricity, no cars becasue the grid will go down, they also are destroying their own economy. Calif. is known as the place cars are revamped into their best selves, power added, old new cars tricked out, all that will be mving to another state. In Vegas a few weeks ago, Barret Jackson saw millions of dollars change hands as car collectors bought their favoiritemuscle cars of the past. We car enthusiasts are not going away, nor giving up. During the shut down, Burger King opened finally, and there as we drove in the lot, about a dozen glorious perfect Corvettes, owners stopping for coffee on way to a rally. They were Black, friendly and thoroughly enjoying their cars. It crosses gender, race and economic levels, we want, no demand out muscle cars! Those backyard mechanice are just as devoted and will be in the mix, with more personal skill and less money output up front, but just as determined.

I just heard on our local cbs news affiliate that the people of science are recycling the turbine blades into an edible coating for things like gummy bears, since the material is plant-based. Nice twist on soy-lent green...

I understand Newsom is pregnant. He had unprotected anal sex and is now considering an abortion. Swept under the rug was Gavin saying that he identifies as a black female undocumented Relative of JPGetty, Jerry Brown, Nancy Pelosi and Jaba the Hut.

If the aim is dramatic population reduction, then this will get there, at least for California.

40m down to, what? Perhaps ten million could be supported with an eighteenth century level of technology plus hydro power.

There's not enough lithium on the planet for this lofty idea, simply not enough battery storage capability. Let not discuss the pollution aspect as what batteries there are are not recyclable and neither are the windmill blades that use up to 30 gallons of lube oil to simply function, and they leak.

Since EV's average price is $60,000, I suspect that used car sales will start going up as they ramp up more and more required EV sales versus gas cars. CarMax would probably be a good stock to invest in. I do remember hearing that GM said that they would not be building gas cars after a certain date which I believe was the end of the decade. Of course they also said when the government instituted the gas guzzler tax on low mileage cars GM would never sell a car that required a gas guzzler tax. The new Corvette Z06 has about a $3,000 gas guzzler tax on it. So I don't put a whole lot of faith in long range talk from GM.

And then there's the infrastructure that the car owner has to set up which can run into the thousands of dollars. Somehow I just don't see the lower and middle classes stepping up to the plate to jump on the EV wagon. And when the government announced the $7,500 tax break on new EV's, some of the car makers raise their prices by $7,500. 😲🤬

The problem for California is going to be that unless they improve their grid and generating capacity, there's going to be a lot of EV's in the garage that aren't charged. So in 50 years, California is going to look like Cuba with the newest car being one from the 2034 model year. The upside is there are some very nice looking '57 Chevys in Cuba. 😉

    To be clear...
Invite in MILLIONS of illegals/year (low income to poor people).
Have them get jobs, usually requiring transportation.

Then introduce THIS CRAP so that the POOREST AMONG US (these same Illegals),
cannot possibly afford to live and feed their families...

Why? Ohhhh, so THEY move to other states, and ALL STATES SHARE YOUR PAIN.

    Genius!
    Pure Genius!

New Rule: If your state banned cars, and it was YOUR POLITICAL PARTY for the majority of your time there...

Then you CANNOT use cars for LIFE!
And when you leave that state...
You must do it ON FOOT!

"Detroit will not let that happen." Too much of Detroit has gone woke so screw them! Arguably, they have virtually no one to blame but themselves for this debacle. Of course, they may swing a deal with Kommiefornia to supply all the useless electric vehicles the state will force everyone to buy. What could go wrong?

True. I had to move some stuff from Florida to western New York and U-Haul practically handed me the trailer for free with a "THANK YOU"!

Agreed, DkJones. I used to think the Neo Communists were following the Stalin plan, but now it looks like the Castro plan instead. I can see it now, it's 2050, the electric grid is totally fried and the newest car on the lot is from 2035.

According to news video , Gov. Nuseless said he was making an Executive Order that No new gas powered vehicles will be sold in Comufornia after 2035. Key word being " New". Detroit will not let that happen. Kalley is probably its largest market.

If you want to know which States are in deep trouble, all you have to do is look at U-Haul's rates for trips to that destination. The lower the rate, the worse the destination. (I used to work there...)

Really. They don't have the electricity to support the existing demands and now they want to nearly DOUBLE that load?

Insanity! But, of course, that's the specialty of Dems.

Already a shortage of rental trucks to drive out of Cforn. Maybe make money by putting your motorcycle in a truck, driving it to Carforlornia, selling it and motorcycling home? Lather, rinse, repeat.

    Atlas Shrugged. Now in non-fiction.

Amazing stupidity. Cuba, here we come. We will have nothing but "classic" cars driving around.

It would be amazing, if at a self-congratulatiry press conference, as Newsom is patting himself on the back, someone stands up, and says: "I will put an end to this. I will stop the motor of Califirnia!"
    And then walks out.
