He is not supporting DeSantis, he just does not want Trump, and figures it will help split the vote and keep Republicans out of the White House.

Just came across a ref from last month, January, where Trump criticizes Soros. Usual stuff. Might explain the Soros outburst of Feb17.

But now, DeSantis is attacking Soros, eg:

Whatever the height of the IQ, the intentions are deep down evil.
Note, DeSantis is not so much as endorsed but preferred over Trump. So, the remark has no effect on one side, and may / well are intended to add confusion on the other side.
