You're right about CNN; literally a few hours after the assassination attempt, a CNN reporter was lamenting that Trump said "Fight! Fight"! as he was being led off stage.

Two, this could be the chance Buydem needs to leave the race, citing "threats of retaliation by MAGA extremists". I have no criminal record (other than a couple speeding tickets, and one isn't printed for those), but very early in my career I worked as a civilian computer programmer for the Indianapolis Police Department.
