If they want to pull you over, they will find SOME thing to pull you over for...... do you seriously believe there is no elements of power mongering going on within the police force? Just because too many Americans don't know their own Constitutional rights doesn't mean the cops should abuse their 'power' via intimidation tactics just because they get away with doing it. Should a person walking down the street with an AR 15 slung over his back be harassed by police?
yes, police work for my city, my state, my federal government. Citizens have a right to expect that their government will work within the Constitution. History has shown that government is the most dangerous when it's given too much power, not criminals
If you don't understand the Constitution perhaps you shouldn't comment. As a matter of fact, I AM the first one to complain if some cop nut job goes off and people like you do nothing to prevent it. what you ignore is that more and more, the government IS the criminal. It's the whole point of the Constitution-4th Amendment? http://www.galtsgulchonline.com/posts/17... minus 1 for ignorance and telling me not to comment on your ignorance
This is very similar to what Uniden had years ago. Here is the U.S. these systems do not work, because the police do not have "one" freq shared and used by all, like in Europe, that can be picked up. I tried out one of these systems on a trip from NY to PA and had many false alarms, and it missed a lot of police cars. In NJ, the freq was so strong from thier cars that it went off even when they were miles away. A waste of money for people in the U.S.
lol. No, it grew out of a feeling of being expectorated. That was years ago when 8 digits was the limit for user names. It remains as a challenge to weed out those who judge too quickly.
If you don't understand the work of law enforcement you shouldn't comment, but I have faith, if some nut job goes off in your town, you will be the first person to complain because the cops didn't prevent it. Cops are government employees, not Officials, and it is an important distinction that you all are missing.
"So, if your not doing anything wrong, why worry?" You have your roles reversed. The people who need to be monitored are government officials. THEY WORK FOR US and you don't have a right to know what your neighbor is doing all the time. But I have EVERY right to know what my police are doing
What is "wrong", other than MOST of the things we all do every day. I am tired of being spied on and then attacked for doing something they have determined as "wrong" so as to make money off me. I will buy one as soon as its ready in the US.
That's what this system relies on - the wireless IT connection that turns most emergency response vehicles into a mobile office.
Of course some responders - most around here other than LEO's - have "dumb" vehicles, i.e. radios that only transmit when the radio is keyed up. Others use their cellphones for business comms - for all the flaws in that (and there are many) it's becoming a first line comm device for some LEO units.
It's a neat gadget, especially in Europe where everything is dispatched via computer link, but here, especially rural here, I'm not sure it's money well spent. Unless you're hiding from the law...
Now, if that can be tweaked to mil freqs, it might have some utility right before they start rounding up the former patriots now known as evildoers... --giggles--
That IS a LOL. I've had American-made still-working "fuzz buster" for so long I forget the exact price, but I bought it for around $100. For a price around $200, this retired dino on a fixed income may begin to think about that new product.

I don't think you've spent enough time in here to tell us what we're "all missing".

Their primary work is coming in after a crime has already happened and cleaning up the mess in whatever manner is needed.
I still have trouble forcing myself to use spaces in Ids and such online

I am intrigued by your name, "Phlembol". Is it a contraction of "phlebotomy" and "embolism"?

Besides, it's probably illegal in VA, and CA, OR, WA.
