This article lost me early on. Terms such as "the people", "the establishment", "the media" and "the state" do little to explain today's political circumstances.

And I'm sure Obama and his supporters will be pleased to know that the 2014 election was a "sham".

the problem, Jan, is that phrase "I can stand to read."

that catches me and my barf bag quite frequently. -- j

FNC is also the news channel with by far the highest ratings. So much for the public's perceptions being shaped in a singular direction.

Right, the "media" is one big monolithic entity, and both Fox News and MSNBC (along with everything on the Internet) shapes the public's perceptions in a singular direction.

A different angle. You are correct even though, I don't think Livingstone quite had that in mind.

Well, when everything the masses see shapes their perceptions in a singular direction, yes, I believe that one can make a good argument that the media influences the masses.

Nothing worthwhile or new here, just more Bircher types throwing around conspiracy theories and names like "CFR" and "Bilderbergers" as code for anti-Semitism. Let's not go there.

The way I get balanced news is to subscribe to every list I can stand to read, including extremists of both left and right -- mostly because I want to know what they're up to.

I think that Bob Livingston gives too much credit to voters. He actually thinks that they are influenced by the media. Those folks are so idiotic that even the left media ha little influence on them. Those voters know that they are supposed to vote, so they do. Here is what they go by in selecting a candidate: hair style, understandable name, how he/she wears clothes and what kind of clothes they wear, their party affiliation, and finally, since they don't know one candidate from another, they just make a random selection. It's called the B.I.N. method of voting (Brain In Neutral).

Great Article, RMP. IMHO, one of the scariest but true lines is: "The need to conceal evil is becoming less necessary as the American people themselves continue to become more perverted."

I prefer my news with an attitude and that attitude is all mine. Truth is a fairy tale and it matters not which news media outlet you subscribe to. I used to believe there was three sides to every story, yours, mine and in the middle was the truth. Not any more! We can't handle the truth and quickly dismiss any who are truthful.

The premise of the article is that we have a population for the most part that "THINKS", and unfortunately the writer did not check his premises because we do not have a population that "THINKS", outside of those present on this web site. I go back to our disaster of a school system. There in lies the problem. From what I continue to observe about the youth of America they just don't care and have no idea how to fight this situation. There were lots of things wrong with the youth of America during the 60's but they had guts and spoke out about what they didn't like. I am sure their actions were a mitigating factor in getting us out of Vietnam. Who ever wins the minds of the youth of America will not have won much. They will have to feed and cloth them because they will not be productive.

Damn great post RMP. I only hope more people will read it and wake up. The article is a superb example of raw truth that can't be refuted.

The battle has been over for a long time RMP. In military terms, the Socialists are doing mopping-up.operations, All they need do is rustle-up the stray doggies who insist on thinking for themselves or wait for we older ones to age out and die. The phrase fait accompli seems to fit.
