I was laughing while I read what is in the link.
Gore--Let's ban cars from cities and spend $90 trillion to make it so.

Perhaps you don't remember enough about the 60s and 70s to recall the climate agenda back then?

Then it was not global warming, it was the impending ice age. That dog didn't hunt so they changed the pitch to global warming.

Now that can't be supported either so they have now gone to "climate change"

It is all an unproven and unprovable line of BS they use to gain power. Political, beaurocratic, and monetary.

Believe in it if you like, after all it is the left's new religion.

But I for one recognize when I"m being lied to

Gov't funding may possibly favor the existing scientific consensus, but everyone else in the world, including "we the people" who elect the gov't, wish it weren't true.

" In other words statistically insignificant other than to push a political agenda. "
It's a lame agenda b/c it's something we all wish were untrue. It's so costly and unfortunate that I could almost give in to a desire to deny it, as people sometimes deny the scientific evidence they have a grave disease. All the monied interests and desires of humankind want there to be no climatological costs to human activities. It's absurd to say political interests are pushing the science to point to something we hate.

The left's wet dream would be a popular vote and it being banned as "racist" to show a photo ID in all 50 states.
The Dems would completely take over.
Meanwhile, weasels like Eric Holder would praise the fairness of it all.

The so called preponderance of the evidence is promulgated by flawed and manipulated computer models using data changes that are within the margin of error for the instrumentation. In other words statistically insignificant other than to push a political agenda.

The agenda is being pushed in both directions by both sides, one side is merely more obnoxious than the other.

Neither side is completely factual, or can be.

Fortunately the popular vote is still irrelevant to the election of President in the United States.

Although it is highly relevant to those seeking to make it the criteria to overturn the Electoral College check and balance that is one of the few shreds of republic left in this country.

Once that falls and we have the "pure democracy" the left dreams of, all Hell breaks loose. The label "pure democracy" is a self evident lie of course, but people don't understand that.

A pure democracy would afford all of us the opportunity to directly vote on every issue of consequence. Can anyone see THAT ever happening? Or at least any vote like that being taken or reported honestly?

The only thing Gore is doing is getting rich off one of the biggest cons in human history.

He's doing a good job, though, getting the word out to people who's knowledge of the problem is so think they actually don't know the climate of the world has gone through many changes. They don't know there may have been a snowball earth period where glaciers covered the planet and a warm period with no ice at the poles. They don't know we're in what's technically an "ice age" with periods of glaciation and deglaciation. The preponderance of the evidence is that human activities are radically upsetting this cycle. We don't have a geo-engineering solution. It's hard to live an affluent lifestyle without burning stuff, and there's nothing hypocritical in having an affluent lifestyle and pointing out the facts.

    idot,
If you want people to use public transportation you have to make it faster and you have to do it through private companies, not government. The law of free entrprise will make it actually work. Government involvment will guarantee it will FAIL.
Gore in utopian... Utopia only exist in a Fantasy not reality!

Portland's Light Rail project is a similar boondoggle - losing money whether or not people ride it. For it to break even, they would have to constantly run at 80% capacity.

    The climate has always changed.
The Ice Age allowed Stone-Age people to cross from Asia to America and primitive horses to go the other way.
    Dinosaurs liked it hot.
I did not render you that 0.
That was someone else who felt their intelligence insulted.
Al Gore is a consistent insult to objective intelligence.
And he is a hypocritical greedy SOB with a carbon footprint I could never hope to approach.

I happen to know a little bit about the transportation availability in Madison. I take it you faithfully ride public transportation every day and do not own an automobile?

I am surprised of all the comments, only one person mentioned Agenda 21. Perhaps it is a given here that most know what that is.

I wasn't saying one thing solves the problem. I actually think the problem may be impossible to solve without geoengineering. I'm all for finding sustainable ways to move cargo.

Politicians always care about their profile. I'm not judging politicians or Gore as a person. I'm just saying it's a good thing he's highlighting one of the biggest problems of our time.

The purpose of expanding public transportation has only one goal: control of the populace, no choice of movement, no freedom to come and go as one pleases........ Like the TSA is teaching the populace to get on the cattle cars without complaint when the time comes.

"Hey, the shit has hit the fan, let's get on the light rail system and bug out of here!" !!!!!

If you look at Al Gore and his climate change nonsense from their perspective, it may be the best looting scheme in the history of the world. For people like me who used to have a business in the industry he ruined, there are no words to describe how much I re-vile him.
