You may notice some similarities between the Affordable Plumbing Act and other legislation.

I realize I wrote heard instead of herd, but you probably figured that out.

I really think that "system" thing is insidious. It implies central planning as a forgone conclusion. "People struggle to afford XYZ. We must have a problem with *our national XYZ system*." I immediately think there is no national system. It's just people trying to get money by helping other people.

Green Mars was good, but it was the slowest of the trilogy. You have to enjoy geological descriptions of landscapes. I did like the part, though, where the failed freedom fighters were holed up in a little hidden community they built in the polar region.

Got it. Somehow, I'm not reading your notes to get what you mean.

    BTW, on Green Mars now

"Do you think Healthcare is better for you and me as 1) a managed provider system and 2) a managed payment system?"
I think most everything is best as an un-managed heard of people trying to solve problems for money and people offering money to solve their problems.

Don't follow you. Healthcare is a market, just not a freemarket for a long time. However, I would argue each of these is a dynamic system, and it will respond to disturbances and changes in the dynamics.

Yes. My point is they're not really systems but rather markets, people serving one another in mutual trades.

Not following you point here doctor. Think the problem with these various systems is too many well-meaning people trying to legislate solutions, without understanding the system they seek to control. Also think that is the point of the humor. Do you disagree?

Is there any hope of reversing any of ObamaMess after he leaves?

Printing this out and handing it to my progressive relatives. Now they will understand why we can no longer afford to go out to dinner with them - we are paying for their health care. They will, of course, not care because it's only fair.

Oh, the definition of rich mentioned in the story should be brought down quite a few notches. Quite a few. Too bad the insurance rates mentioned in the article are pretty darn accurate.

Also it's difficult for DIYers to fix health issues as readily as plumbing problems.

I don't think I really understood Obama Care until I read this. An amazingly well written article that clarifies a complex issue clearly. Thanks for posting this.

I love parody as an illustrative learning tool. This one goes out to family and friends.

One think that the article left out that he would have been forced to buy the plumbing insurance within a year of purchasing his house, whether or not he wants to. And also when he sells his home, there will be a 3.5% tax on his home to subsidize the administration of the program.

This is a beautiful application of the exact sequence of events that goes on with almost all politics today. It illustrates the irresponsible, special interest laden system results we see so often now. Wonderful!

And that Ladies and Gentlement is Liberal thinking at it finest. The product or service is irrelevant. How that product or service in manageed is relevant. And this is priceles, sadly most won't be able to comprehend.

This is a good parody of the logic that says people struggle to afford some product or service, so we have a problem with "the system" associated with that product or service. We have a problem with the education, healthcare, and transportation *systems*, so why not say we have a problem with our plumbing services *system*.
