Motion filed to Vacate the Chair - REMOVE John Boehner
Whereas the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 114th Congress has endeavored to consolidate power and centralize decision-making, bypassing the majority of the 435 Members of Congress and the people they represent;
Whereas the Speaker has, through inaction, caused the power of Congress to atrophy, thereby making Congress subservient to the Executive and Judicial branches, diminishing the voice of the American People;
Whereas the Speaker uses the power of the office to punish Members who vote according to their conscience instead of the will of the Speaker; Whereas the Speaker has intentionally provided for voice votes on consequential and controversial legislation to be taken without notice and with few Members present;
Whereas the Speaker uses the legislative calendar to create crises for the American People, in order to compel Members to vote for legislation; Whereas the Speaker does not comply with the spirit of the rules of the House of Representatives, which provide that Members shall have three days to review legislation before voting;
Whereas the Speaker continues to direct the Rules Committee to limit meaningful amendments, to limit debate on the House floor, and to subvert a straightforward legislative process;
and Whereas the House of Representatives, to function effectively in the service of all citizens of this country, requires the service of a Speaker who will endeavor to follow an orderly and inclusive process without imposing his or her will upon any Member thereof: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives is hereby declared to be vacant.

However, I agree with you. If it was up to me, I'd cull a few out and treat the rest like a nest of vipers.
How many will ask "Senator are you ready to return to the center and the sacred ground of the Constitution?"
"Doctor Paul what would it take for you to repudiate the illegal repeal of the Bill of RIghts as contained in the Patriot Act and really win the fight against terrorism?"
Never mind such obvious moves as standing for honest voting systems, a multi party system of government, and stating firmly. Citizens Control Government not the other way around."

I think that when we'll be discussing this topic at the same date next year, we'll be in an entirely different situation.

So I enjoy indulging a little mischief.
Boehner (and yes, McConnell, Graham, Bush, McCain and the rest of the "Establishment" types of which are many) must go! Boehner is the problem and not the solution! He represents everything that is wrong and broken with the Beltway Establishment....too many cocktail parties and too much time under the sunlamp.
It is time that support initiatives is provided. This is a watershed moment that will determine whether or not the Republican party can reinvigorate itself or, as with the Whig party, a new party will rise from the ashes!

There was an old store front on the green with a sill above the door that still had a bullet hole in the wood from that event. I remember fingering it while trying to understand what it must mean to people to stand in front of that and risk your very life. To risk your life, for what?
That, and time spent sitting on the Concord bridge after reading everything I could of Ayn Rand taught me so much of what freedom actually is and what it takes.

I hear what you're saying, but this is historically inaccurate--and I feel the need to correct you, because it's significant (I'm not just nit-picking, here) .
That first shot on Lexington Green did not come from Captain John Parker's (colonial) militia. He had given this order to his men "Stand your ground--do not fire unless fired upon. But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here!"
No one knows who fired that first shot, heard somewhere off the green--but hearing it, in the heat of the moment, made a Redcoat soldier think he had missed the "FIRE" command, and he fired his musket on the colonists who by now were following Capt Parker's orders to go home. Once this happened, all the Redcoats who had marched onto that green opened fire, and once their volley was over, they lowered their bayonets and charged. It was all done without orders. Their commander, Lt. Colonel Francis Smith, was horrified at their lack of discipline. His orders from Royal Governor Thomas Gage, included "do not molest the colonists or disturb their homes"--the mission was to seize the colonists' armaments at Concord.
This historic detail is a perfect illustration of how easily things can spin out of control.
