Nobody is going to be held accountable. From the article...

:“Our investigation uncovered substantial evidence of mismanagement, poor judgment and institutional inertia, leading to the belief by many tax-exempt applicants that the IRS targeted them based on their political viewpoints ... But poor management is not a crime..."

If he'll promise to prosecute Obama and Holder, I'll vote for him. One strong example would be worth two reform laws.

"Poor judgement" can be a crime. That is the basis for malpractice suits and poor judgement in a professional context was the basis for suits brought against the executives of banking and stock institutions, was it not?

Governments, including the U.S. federal one, have used whatever power they controlled to silence the opposition and protect their essentials. This is no different. It comes right out of the book “Dictator’s Handbook.” BTW, this is a real book that anyone interested in politics should read.

The difference, ultimately, will be in the fact that Republicans stand with integrity, and would not stoop to the level that Democrats do. So, the question is, do Republicans want to become the lowest forms of human beings in order to fight on the same level as Democrats? Apparently, it is the only way to win in politics.

The whole of the 0 administration should be held accountable for something but as we are seeing with H and now L that is not going to happen. The reason is simple they will stand with 0 if he were to be investigated. And that is just the way it is and will always be in d.c.

This corrupt approach to legal decisions applies to any other high level official doing Obama's bidding. Hillary will not be indicted, no matter the proof, unless Obama wants her indicted. Open fraud in the 2016 election, targeting of anyone who opposes Obama and the Left, and the like will also not be pursued. When the DOJ, the FBI and the courts are compromised, there is no redress within the system.

I keep telling myself that electing Donald Trump would lead to nothing more than a "revenge presidency". Maybe that wouldn't be an entirely bad thing for the first couple of years, and Lerner could be one of his first targets.

Yes, if it happened under a republican administration the IRS getting a pass would have been front page news. They stomped on the rights of a group of citizens who attempted to change the status quo, and they got away with it.

I am not a lawyer, but does this set a precedent? Can all administrations use the IRS to attempt to deter opposition groups in the the future?

    What a mess!

To those of us who have made it a point to understand the tragedy unfolding to the principles embodied in Jefferson's timeless Declaration, it is well-understood that a great deal of the evidence for this tragedy can be found in the offices of our judicial prosecutors. Most significantly of said office(s) in the DOJ.

Another current political symptom of this tragedy is reflected by, among other, Ben Carson. When asked if he would work to eliminate, for example, the Dept of Education, he indicated no, but he would work to make the campuses more "balanced," by appointing a "monitor" within said Dept, to oversee what constitutes desired or appropriate rhetoric in academia.

    "Monitor" indeed..........

This POS news release was deliberately timed to be released during a weekend to minimize it being noticed.
I recall Rush saying that about other Demo-craps on the USA.

At which point do we officially become a Banana Republic, or are we past that point and now aspiring to become New Afrika?

Oh yes, using the IRS to target and interfere with the political oppositions fundraising efforts was just a coincidence as well. I am sure no one in the White House knew anything about it...
