Hillary's supporters want her to continue even if she is indicted. Maybe she figures she could run the country from behind bars, sort of like some Mafia or cartel bosses have done, while the Senate goes into meltdown trying to convict on impeachment charges.

Maybe she's planning on making Slick Willie her VP? Nothing in the Constitution says a former Prez can't be a VP, and nostalgia counts in some people's eyes. Then if she gets jailed, the Clintons are still in charge.

This seems to me a non-sequitur. There is no requirement that a pardon take place after trial -- it is perfectly legal for a president to pardon someone before that person is tried or even charged. Therefore a president may pardon himself. He could still be impeached, but there it would end.

Clinton, even if found guilty, will get a pardon. She knows where all the skeletons are buried and there is no way ANYONE in DC is going to allow the dominoes to fall.

If you read the Constitution, impeachment carries a lifetime ban from "any office of trust or profit under the United States."

But I don't think presidents are actually barred from holding the office again even if term-limited out. After two terms they are ineligible for re-election as president; but it would be completely legal for Hillary to make her husband vice-president, and for him to then succeed her as president should she die, resign, or be impeached during her term, or for him to become "Acting President" should she be declared incapacitated under the 25th Amendment.
