Last week they reviewed AS I and II-if you haven't seen it, I encourage to find the post. As well, Roger Malcom, a creator of the reviews, is now in the gulch. I have often found that those who love Ayn Rand's novels also appreciated this late 80s movie, directed by Rob Reiner. In the review *spoiler alert* they aptly pick up on the underlying theme of not judging a book by its cover. We could have a vigorous debate in here about reason and observation, I suspect, but I have felt this sentiment often when discussing the word "selfish."
As well, Randians LOVE romanticism and strong heroes. Do you like The Princess Bride and do you see parallels with Objectivism?

Adore this movie, always always. My Etsy store is called Queen Buttercups Jewel Box.
But ALL THESE COMMENTS and nobody's said this?
"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father...prepare to die."

Way too many opportunities to use this one in modern life -
    My name does not matter.
    You destroyed my country.
    Prepare to die.

"I have my wedding to plan, my wife to murder, and Guilder to blame for it. I'm swamped!"

    Is that a Weiner quote?

One "sonofabitch", a "jesus", and 3 men and a movie. :)
These guys crack me up. I'm not sure I want to watch their next movie pic though.
Wesley was a "farm boy" who turned into a fencing pirate with a mask. Who saw THAT coming? Never under estimate a farm boy I guess.
My favorite part was when they were in the 4 man sling thing. I would love to see the outtakes from the scene. (Why does the word "outtakes" always come up around these reviews?)

Love love love it!!! I saw it three times the first week it came out in 1987. Right before I had a mini shrug. I know the lines down to the silly sighs or laughs. I own a copy and watch it regularly. Stop rhyming, I mean it! Anybody want a peanut? R.O.U.S's. I don't believe they exist. Rrrowww! I recommend it as often as I can. And I married a man who is half Sicilian, so laugh over the whole game of who will get the poison. When death is on the line. I recommend reading the book as well. It's one of those that will make you laugh out loud.

Ahhhh, I love that movie! I would say that both Pirate Roberts I.e. Wesley would fit Rand's description of man as heroic. What is interesting is that Pirate Roberts or the perception of Pirate Roberts is a negative one until you realize that it is Wesley, then all of the sudden he appears as a romantic version of a pirate, almost like a Robin Hood type character. All the characters, misfits, but noble in their own peculiar way!
