Trump Breaks Mexico, Who Agrees To Stem Invasion

Well, surprise, surprise! Money talks! Who'd woulda thought?
The threat of increased tariffs appears to have overcome cartel bribes and any inducements our own Deep State were pushing to make The Donald look bad by 2020.
One thing is for sure. If Mexico doesn't stem the illegal immigrant invasion someone is obviously paying for, you can bet your britches Trump will fast as greased lightning impose the tariffs he agreed to suspend.
Isn't it nice to finally have a hard nosed president with intestinal fortitude? Since freaking who? Reagan?

Electing Trump was a really good move. He's like 'airwick' in D.C.

Yep, Trump isn't afraid of looking like a bully to pinheads. What bugs The Donald is the rest of the world laughing at the USA due to it having been run by taken advantage of idiots.

The Swampers know that Trump didn't back down, but oh, my, they wish that he had. The USA is supposed to kowtow to every two-bit country on Earth just because the elitists don't want us to be thought of as bullies. Well, if standing up for this country so that it can be made great again and thus make the entire world a better place to live is being a bully, then I'm all for it.

Although the duties collected are put into general funds and are a tax. Why can not the small amount needed compared to the duties collected be used for building the wall and boarder protection?

Trump did an end run around congress. So they hate him. Even though it’s best for the country

Definitely worth it. Talk of shooting them will only generate huge George Soros paid-for protest demonstrations filled with blood-curdling screams of "RACIST!"
It would be enough to make me dino want to start shooting. (To want and to do are two separate things).

Its worth a try. The only surefire way to keep the migrants from coming in illegally is to either build a really good barrier, change the laws here to forbid entry EVER if you come in illegally, or shoot them as they try to cross. We will see. But SOMETHING needs to be done and NOW

Besides raised tariffs, I'm sure Mexican politicians who take bribes from cartels are considering the point you make due to wanting to be reelected.

Actually, I think Trump, behind the scenes, made Mexico realize tht the huge influx of migrants INTO Mexico, given that the USA is going to do SOMETHING to stop them from coming across our border from Mexico, HAS TO STOP before it creates massive problems in both our countries.

This is a good deal for Mexico too. They dont want a horde of low IQ and low skill central americans flooding into Mexico either. They thought that the migrants were just going to pass through mexico and be unloaded into the USA- but they realize that WE arent going to allow that any longer. That means the migrants will flood into Mexico and overload their country for no benefit.

If the migrants that make it to the USA were unloaded into santuary cities, you see the same reaction up here. Lets YOU take in and pay for the migrants, the leftist rich people say. We dont want them in our gated communities.

Now to see what the effects are. It's all fine for Mexico to promise, but I want to see delivery...

As long as the invaders aren't Mexicans. Yet, I have occasionally been concerned that a wall would be used in the future like the Berlin Wall was: to keep people in. This avoids that issue for now.

When Trump said that I thought 'yes, but how?' The answer is, the wall does not have to be on the northern border of Mexico, the southern border is ok.

The GOP came out against Trump in clear indication of fearing their profits.

    Maybe profits from drugs?

I would not be surprised at anything. McConnell is just as corrupt as the left.

    Dirty swampsters!

    Thanks for this information, Solver.
Golly gee! Lookit the cooperation a POTUS can persuade a third world country to give if he just has guts enough to turn a few screws.
Meanwhile, wimps in the GOP have been whining for Trump not to be so mean. Screw them!
Me dino sick and tired of such Congressional level self-serving cowardice that's been dragging on for years and years and years.
America first! That's who We The People are.

    Yes.

That's what I have been pointing out above.

His ways are totally foreign to the ossified bureaucrats.

Good to see a businessman at the helm.

So, it appears that may happen as promised. Just thought I'd point out the obvious to anyone who might have missed it, but don't expect any "news" outlet to notice.

Trump's way of working with incalcitrant states will never be understood by the media (not that they are trying very hard) or Congress.

They made an asset of their non-understanding and blame Trump for it.

I take Trump's way any time vs that of the Anointed boy Hussein...

“Mexico promises to deploy its National Guard throughout Mexico, particularly at the border, increase actions to dismantle human trafficking operations to smuggle individuals across the border, and take extra steps to coordinate with the American government to share information and "better protect and secure our common border," according to a statement from the State Department.”

And just before the news above, this,

“MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The Mexican Finance Ministry said on Thursday it blocked the bank accounts of 26 people for their alleged involvement in human trafficking, as Mexico broadens its migration clampdown under intense pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump.”
