She’s 86. She can’t get a photo ID. Look at the voter fraud we’ve prevented

While this is a Republicrat basher, it does point out something to remember, and note when told "not so". Laws get manipulated for every purpose imaginable, and sold using someother totally unrelated justification. I'm ok with proving you are a citizen, as well as having to stake it all in one place so you don't get counted like a lot of democratic voters do: several times. But the common sense approach would be to use existing records and let it go at that. Next manipulation will be to allow anyone to register with a K mart receipt, and then back it will go when the ruling party changes hands.

I don't know my sister did that portion of the research what ...ten years ago ...things change ...so it's just a comment not a negative comment for others who may have run into the same complexity...the records are massive and making some correction would take a bit of time.
However I have asked her if she notes any changes as she still does that work for others...

I've been a practicing Mormon my entire life and I've never heard that one. No, dates are not intentionally changed to obfuscate the truth. However, people do make mistakes while transcribing and indexing.

I was implying nothing I was stating a fact and not implying any motive except it may have been a celebration of joining this particular church. Stating something in a straight forward manner seems to bother people who are used to politician speak and not objectivist statement of fact. The three volumes on our family were a twenty year research project involving trips to Europe and back to the midwest and eastern USA. Everything was fact checked. Although some of the mmmmmm darker episodes of the families past was not dealt with at any great length. Those were well known in any case.

The research in the LDS collection was, as stated, invaluable. So thinking it or not it happened.....and was not an uncommon find to be fact checked as to how many people were really one person....The easy way was find the LDS records on those joining their church.
'Too many complications' implies an inability to do serious research. So I object to imply and manipulation be objected to. They are after all...a church.

Well, Doc, I think Bernie is just another horse of a different color. He is as manipulative as the rest, and has no original ideas or solutions. He is just pandering to a different crowd. I believe the DNC machine will manipulate things to be HillaryBeast this year, and that will stand unless the Obamanation decides he wants to outdo her and allows prosecution so he can run Biden.

I think Michael is implying there is manipulation of information to break trail on LDS members with our current empire. I have never heard that one, my dad went to their headquarters to do a bunch of family research, and they were very cooperative. I would think such a tactic would have too many complications to be effective.

The use the KISS principle and send ballots to al lout of date addresses to make sure they get their ballot even if they forgot to give address change, forgot to register, etc etc etc.

they don''t seem to check the ballots sent back in from that system either. very fast....

Michael, I am LDS and am familiar with the records available. I don't understand the statement "Their one and only flaw is providing a new birth date for those joining LDS..." Please elucidate.

It's a major tool. The one good source that still must be vetted are the geneology research documents of the LDS in Utah. Their one and only flaw is providing a new birth date for those joining LDS which means the same individual is listed twice with conflicting information. Other than that the documentation is superior to even the famouse Doomsday Books in England.

Nick, she could just be someone interested in genealogy. Sometimes you can get some good info from headstones.

I'm an observer of human behavior, and Clinton knows how to manipulate the base better than Sanders. The Congressional Black Caucus has more influence on black voters than Al Sharpton, so the CBC endorsing her compared to the clumsy pandering Sanders did to one of the biggest con artists in the game tells me he isn't equipped to compete for minority voters.

In the unforeseen event that Sanders wins the primaries, and gets past a possible Biden bid at the convention, he will be trapped into a radically socialist agenda. Any attempt to reverse course or "adjust" his programs for the general election will open him up to justified charges of hypocrisy. The DNC recognizes that, which is why they're frantic to depth charge his campaign. I do think they've badly misread how seriously damaged Clinton is in the eyes of the public.

Funny you say that, I just read an article saying the Dumbocraps have gone all out to change the rules for HillaryBeast, so she can now accept money from all the pandering lobbyists. They also have given her a bunch of "unpledged delegates" so she actually lost by 20%, but got more delegates than Bernie boy. This is just more proof of how corrupt the system really is. And is sure to add fuel to the fire of the socialist side who are already starting to scream about the corruption from within. Maybe some good will come out of it, or the Obamanation and gang will make sure she is indicted before the convention and the throw Wasserman to the wolves.

I'm not so sure Sanders will beat the DNC machine, as they're locked onto an obsessive obligation to Hitlery's coronation. Unless an indictment comes through before the convention (which I would bet isn't going to happen), this nomination is in the bag for the bag.

I have read books, received advice, been chastised
and advised and even complimented by people here,
and the result is a stronger sense of optimism for the future,
since there are many whom I know are fighting for it
like I am. . this is a great place with many fine people!!! -- j

Hard to find a place where you can at least express a considered opinion that does not need to fit the party line, and people respect each other enough to not go all crazy over it. Even when some people get feisty over specifics (such as religion), at least there is some discussion and leeway. I prefer someone discussing, disagreeing or debating an issue, no matter the subject, as long as they are honest and respectful. That is why I don't watch the dumb a@@ debates or engage in the party politics.Honesty, integrity and respect should be core values, often lacking in almost any public place anymore.

Been sober for 26 years. The other missing factor is self honesty. The sheeple will live forever in the fantasy world of Bernie and Hillary and Donald, before they will face the evil reality of a bankrupt nation run by criminals. And not one honest person in sight who they will elect, as the truth does not set them free.

That is anathema to politicians, who just want a huge number of names they can place in their column. They don't want the voter any smarter than they need to be to put the check in the right box or press the right button. They even will press the button for you.
