    You remember the big phony shut the government down budget charade. the bill passed Senate 85 to 15. Buried int he bill was the extension and upgrade for the arrest and apprehension powers of DHS. Now compare the following with probable cause and warrants, lawyers, judges, Miranda warnings etc.

    The old version was 'arrest upon suspicion of terrorism.'

    Terrorism was not defined nor limited to any particular group such as Mid Easterners.

    The new version added, "arrest upon suspicion of support of terroism." Again no real definition much less limits.

    No probable cause, no warrants, no judges signature etc etc etc. no miranda escobedo rights warnings, no rights.

    And the asshole went on public television in front of a big display of the Constitution etc. and signed the bill remarking how that little change was going to save us all from....

    a two bit tin horn shyster dictator from Chicago?

    Fifteen Senators voted against 85 including all the RINOS voted for it.

    The world slept especially the lame stream media

    Hell most of this forum slept and ho hummed and went back to debating civil rights and the Bill of Rights that don't exist anymore.

    and all it takes is 'mere suspicion' with no proofs required or offered.

    Been that way since the Patriot Act was first put in place. only thing new was adding ' suspicion of 'supporting' terrorism.

    You just read the whole thing with all it 's definitions and limits. NONE.

    But the government didn't shut down and the media cheered and they now have the legal power to ignore the Constitution at a whim. Especially those pesky rights card readings and producing proof and providing a lawyer and trial and all that useless crap.

    ACLU was so pleased

    Joe Mama. That's a slang insult from Yo Mama.

    Ring any bells yet?

    But be happy the suspension of Constitutional protections with in 100 miles of our borders and coastlines was not extended ...but it was kept in place.

    Ding a ling Ding a ling

    How Patriot-ic Act-ing do you feel now?

    When you give up your rights to the whims of the likes of TSA and the President says 'we won the war on terrorism' who besides Obeyme and the toad in his pocket is the 'we' he references? (The toad is Hillary.)

    As for the new Executive Directive the topic of this as HBD read it and decide for yourself. Then go look at it's history which started under Roosevelt around 1940. This one is the latest version and consolidates all the bits and pieces.

    That same thought began to grow inside of old extinct dino's wormy head after I wrote what I wrote above.
    By the way, David is my favorite first name for some reason. Now why is that?
    Can't quite put the finger on that reason. Think I'll tap a finger to my head to help me think.

    The lesson here is to become as independent as humanly possible. They can't take what they don't know about

    The government is making sure it can't be overthrown by us citizens. We should look at Venezuela to see how things are going to proceed here. (Unfortunately I am serious about this)

    More accurately, he has shown cowardice to other countries. For this country he believes his will is law and won't back down as easily.

    Because EOs are put in place within a huge pile of BS crap stuff, so they get submerged in it. When the time comes, they will roll it out, and do what they want with terms like "Under section 803, you are required to move to Indiana and work in a coal mine" and you will have what option? They have placed no legal restraints on this, other than the challenge it is all unconstitutional, and how will that be done? The right thing would be a legal challenge 4 years ago when it was signed, but no one cred enough to do it, or knew it was a waste of effort.

    Here is another Gem. Just refer to all the rpevious orders, mess them up with "revoked" or "nothing changes" or "except whens" and you end up with mush that means "do whatever you want and you can use deadly force if needed":

    Sec. 803. Authority. (a) Executive Order 12919 of June 3, 1994, and sections 401(3)-(4) of Executive Order 12656 of November 18, 1988, are revoked. All other previously issued orders, regulations, rulings, certificates, directives, and other actions relating to any function affected by this order shall remain in effect except as they are inconsistent with this order or are subsequently amended or revoked under proper authority. Nothing in this order shall affect the validity or force of anything done under previous delegations or other assignment of authority under the Act.

    (b) Nothing in this order shall affect the authorities assigned under Executive Order 11858 of May 7, 1975, as amended, except as provided in section 802 of this order.

    (c) Nothing in this order shall affect the authorities assigned under Executive Order 12472 of April 3, 1984, as amended.

    OK, if this does not scare you, then I miss the point:

    c) be prepared, in the event of a potential threat to the security of the United States, to take actions necessary to ensure the availability of adequate resources and production capability, including services and critical technology, for national defense requirements;

    Here is the direction to take over nearly everything:
    Sec. 201. Priorities and Allocations Authorities. (a) The authority of the President conferred by section 101 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2071, to require acceptance and priority performance of contracts or orders (other than contracts of employment) to promote the national defense over performance of any other contracts or orders, and to allocate materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense, is delegated to the following agency heads:Show citation box

    (1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;

    (2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;

    (3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;

    (4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;

    (5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and

    (6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials.

    Oh yea, go check out this gem (the NDER), a herd of loyal Dumbocraps hand picked to become Executives that can be activated "in an emergency" and tell you what to do:

    (e) The head of an agency may activate an NDER unit, in whole or in part, upon the written determination of the Secretary of Homeland Security that an emergency affecting the national defense exists and that the activation of the unit is necessary to carry out the emergency program functions of the agency.

    Nope, this is a blueprint for a government know to be unable to tell the truth, and make up lies to match it's agenda, to take over.

    Crap...

    This sort of action should have been expected as the sun rising in the morning. Every action, attitude, order and pronouncement of Obama has pointed to government takeover for the last seven years. Welcome to the United Socialist Peoples States of America.

    And should be completely unconstitutional. There for, not obeying it should be the first thing any military person does.

    I'm certain the emperor is thinking about it.
    But does he have the guts to declare martial law when it will be clear that he just wants to keep Trump out of office?
    He has shown cowardice when it comes to such things as not backing up his drawing of a red line.
    Still, the Narcissist-In Chief has his huge egotistical legacy hang-up to nurture.
    He has his Obamacare and wants to keep it. Period.
    He wants his fundamental change and he wants us to keep it. Period.
    That including other things--
    He wants coal miners out of work and to keep them unemployed. Period.
    He wants pseudo-transgenders to traumatize little girls and wants them to keep doing it. Period.
    Old Dino could keep this up but won't. Period.

    Remeber: This was 2012, april, and he had just figured out (or been told) that he would be re-elected (since Romney would lose). So now we are near the end of the Great Ones legal term, do you think we will soon see a fabricated "emergency" to implement this? It reads a lot like what the government in AS tried to do.

    Excellent article and the extensive historical background was great. I have no doubt we'll see implementation of EO 13603 in our lifetimes; so much of our liberty is already gone. The important question will be if the American people even notice.

    Here's an even older one: the Insurrection Act (IA) of 1807 (U.S. Code 331-335). In plain language, the President has the authority to declare a state, or states, to be in a condition of "insurrection," loosely defined as in a condition where one or more "residents" (note, not "citizens") have had their civil rights violated, and the governor(s) are unwilling or unable to restore order. Once the President makes such declaration, he/she has full authority, without consent of Congress, to declare martial law in the insurrectionist state(s).

    People sometimes point to Posse Comitatus as a defense against the invocation of the IA, but that's an incorrect assumption. The PC restraint is against the use of the U.S. military in a law enforcement role in a state that is not in a state of insurrection.

    We remain, as we have for over 200 years, one Presidential order from totalitarian rule.

    One answer is that the lefty lamestream media is preoccupied with watching King Batty's back and have their own progressive/socialist agenda to nurture.
    (I meant to write King Barry--not Batty. That's such a great typo I'm gonna let it stand).

    You have been living under this one or one like it all your lives. Last time it was noticeable was WWII. The part I couldn't find was just compensation, limitations or reasons needed and length of time employed before a vote of congress like the war powers act ha ha is required..

    This one is under the DHS consolidation of federal powers also.

    Like the change no one noiticed on Dec 31s doing away with civil rights and Bill of Rights some key definitions were left blank.

    But then no one cared then or apparently does now.

    Makes sense that when he sees the Hildebeast is going to lose, to create a false flag emergency and invoke it.

    To me, the wording of the actual order is even more scary than the analysis presented in the article. Suspension of individual rights in the name of national defense is the suspension of everything that is worth defending.

    so furthermore since this law is first of all against our moral code and second of all blatantly illegal, what are we to do about it? the founders started a revolution over a two percent tax increase on a breakfast drink that wasn't even coffee (among other things)and now our government has so much power that it is "legally" allowed to enslave its citizens!
